Everest Climber Gives a Thrillophilia EBC Trek Review

I am a mountaineer, and I have climbed several mountains till date. However, a year ago I met with an accident and was on complete bed rest. Doctors advised me to quit climbing as my legs were not strong enough for it, they said.

It was impossible for me to quit climbing before I achieved my goal to climb Mount Everest. I recovered fast and within a year I could do everything a normal person can. I even joined a gym to gain my strength back.

One day, I saw an advertisement online for Everest Base Camp Trek, offered by Thrillophilia. It was a 12 days and 11 nights package which was available at a reasonable price. I also read some EBC trek reviews after which I couldn’t help but drop an inquiry. The next day, I received a call from their representative who explained to me the itinerary and I decided that I am going to climb Mount Everest.

I completed all the booking process. The next day, I gathered the courage to tell my family about this trip. My parents tried to stop me, crying, being angry, emotional and even asked my best friend to convince me. However, I was determined and wanted this for myself.

I climbed Mount Everest!

My first part of the trek was from Lukla to Phakding which was around a 2-hour journey through beautiful villages and suspension bridges.

On day 2, I started my trek towards Namche Bazaar. On the way, I passed the beautiful Monjo Village and Sagarmatha National Park. After a tiring trek, my day 3 was at leisure. Also, it was important for me to acclimatise with the temperature.

Next day, I was back on track and started my trek towards Deboche. After crossing the scenic Imja Khola river and completing a 6–7-hour trek, I finally reached Deboche.

On day 5, my trek was towards Dingboche. This was the day; I felt a little pain and numbness in my leg. I had two options, either to return, or continue towards my goal. I took medicines, walked forward and reached Dingboche.

After a day at leisure, came the time to move forward on a 5-hour trek to Lobuche. With still some pain left, I continued my trek thinking that now I am very close to Everest. This time, I reached my destination before time which made me believe that I am gaining back my strength.

Next day I started having continuous pain in my leg. However, that did not stop me. To help with the pain, I started taking painkillers 3-4 times a day.

On reaching Gorak Shep, I realised I was so close to my goal, but the pain was also increasing by that time. However, I forgot all about the pain soon. I started my final ascent to Mount Everest. Although it was another 2-3 hours trek, it felt like I reached there in a few minutes due to my excitement.

Finally, after days of trekking, extreme leg pain and constant rejection from people, I was standing at a height of 17,598 ft at Mount Everest Base Camp. I sat down on the ground and took a moment to realise that: “I did it!”

I spent around 3 hours at EBC and before descending, I took only one selfie to cherish it for my entire life. At that moment, all the worldly concerns felt so small and there was nothing in this world that I couldn’t achieve.

I continued with my descent and spent that night listening to my favourite music, eating lots of sweets and missing my family.

On the flight back home, I decided to write this Thrillophilia review of EBC trek as they were a major support in my journey.

Thrillophilia making dreams come true…

I am short of words to express my gratitude towards Thrillophilia. They have helped me achieve my goal and change my perspective for a lot of things.

In the end, with this review of thrillophilia I would like to tell the readers that there is nothing in this world they cannot achieve. It depends on you to prove to everyone else that you can do it!
