Summer is quickly ending
and soon we'll all have to hide under the shade, waiting for the rains to stop.
Before that happens, it might be a good idea to head over to the nearest beach
and enjoy it while you can. If you have some time on your hands, you might opt
to take a beach weekend getaway to one of the nicest beaches in the
Philippines.
So, here are the best
beaches to visit right now in the Philippines. Of course, there are many others
who will also do just fine and it’s mostly a matter of personal taste. I tried
to highlight those that are easy to get to, offer proper accommodation and an
overall superb beach experience.
Laiya Beach
Laiya beach is arguably the
nicest beach in Batangas, and certainly its most popular one. Since it's so
close to Manila, you'll do better to come here during weekdays if possible.
That way, you can avoid the weekend crowd and have a relatively quiet time at
this beautiful place.
Even during the weekend,
Laiya is a great place to go if you are looking for time at the beach. The
place is very well adapted to children and resorts are really high level. If
you have some time to spare, you might also wish to visit Tagaytay. It's not too far away, and can offer a nice change from lying at
the beach all day long.
Boracay
if you have time on your
hands, and some money to spare, then visiting Boracay is the obvious choice.
Everyone knows it's the best beach in the world, and also a great place to
party and meet new people. This small island also has some of the best resorts
in the Philippines, and a huge selection of hotels to meet everyone's needs.
Boracay isn't just about
relaxing at the beach and hitting the bars at night. There are many tours you
can go on, such as diving, island hopping, kitesurfing and more. The list goes
on forever, so it's really only a question of what you would like to do. A
weekend there with the family is great fun, but can become costly quite
quickly. It might be a good idea to book a Boracay vacation package and save some money that way.
Organized trips with
trusted travel agencies also mean you can enjoy your time with a clear mind.
Focus on relaxing and spending time at the beach, instead of worrying about
problems with your hotel or finding the right tour guide. If you are already in
paradise, make sure you experience it right.
Pagudpud
If Boracay is too far or
too expensive, there are always decent alternatives. Pagudpud is nicknamed 'Boracay of the north' for a reason – its white sand beaches don't fall short of its
southeren counterpart. The most popular beaches are Saud and Blue lagoon – so
that's where you should head if you decide to travel to Pagudpud.
There are a few distinct
advantages to a vacation in Ilocos compared to other places. First, Ilocos is
very diverse with lots of different things to see and do. For example, you can
chill at the beach and then drive to Vigan for some scenic city atmosphere.
Another big plus is how close Ilocos is to Manila – you can take a 6 hours bus
or fly to Laoag in less than an hour.
Lastly, resorts here are
high level, but my cheaper than anywhere else. It's your chance for a luxury
vacation at affordable prices.
