After a day filled with
exploration and feasting on local cuisine, we finally settled down to our home
in Camotes Island. Along with fellow travel bloggers and friends from the
Tourism Board of the Philippines, I welcomed the chance to rest my feet and savor
the day’s experience lounging by the beach. Good thing, our resort: Mangodlong Paradise is situated just in front of a white sandy beach. Chill time has now
commenced, I told myself as we check-in to our separate rooms.
Blues everywhere. The good kind of blues |
Bamboo Cafe and Sunset Bar
First thing we did on the
resort was to have our dinner at Bamboo Café where we feasted over a medley of
local cuisine fused with Chinese food and afterward I hung out at the nearby
Sunset Bar—the poolside joint—but I resisted taking a dip into the inviting infinity
pool. Two days later, I finally did jump into the pool under the glow of the
beautiful sunny day.
Chill spots all over |
I instantly found the ambiance
of the resort ideal for contemplative mood as the spacious property dotted with
tall palm trees and landscaped with manicured lawns, make up for a pseudo great
outdoor spot—only it comes with 28 rooms evenly spread out throughout the
expansive property.
Cozy Accommodations
My room is Deluxe Room good for
two people. It comes with twin beds, an aptly-spaced living area, a TV set,
mini-ref, side table and lamps and opens to a small porch where you can sit and
view the sunset.

Even though we have a jam-packed
three-day itinerary in Camotes Island, I made sure to take advantage of our
every downtime—to which we always return to the resort to freshen up and
rest—to enjoy the resort more.
Catching up on my reading |
A couple of hours of break from
our schedule afforded me some time to read a book lying down on a hammock tied
between two coconut trees. It’s a kind of place I would definitely look forward
to returning again someday. Probably with a girlfriend with me *wink*.
The infinity pool |
On our last night, the resort
set up a cocktail and dinner banquet for us in the outdoor area where the
resort also holds weddings and other events.
The Bamboo Cafe |
the Sunset Bar |
It was an extraordinary dinner
setting because aside from the gorgeous seaside view, we were blessed with a
fiery red sunset and a full moon afterward.
Cultural dances were performed
during the night and we capped it all with a celebratory toast signaling the
Suroy-Suroy Sugbo Interlude media familiarization tour of Camotes Island.
